Basing yourself in Bristol means that you can experience the city and all of its attractions as well as explore the surrounding area. Within a short drive from the city, you can visit prehistoric sites, experience world famous sporting events and soak in Roman baths- and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Visit Bath
Just a half hour drive southeast of Bristol, the town of Bath is a historic part of England's past. The area was known for its hot springs and the town of Bath was built in 863 BC by Prince Bladud who claims to have been cured of leprosy by the hot springs. The area has become a very popular place for visitors to relax and enjoy the Roman hot springs spa as well as the scenic countryside. Bath is not to be missed as a part of your visit to Bristol.

Explore Stonehenge
Take a 1 hour 20 minute drive from your Bristol hotel to one of England's most famous landmarks when you visit Stonehenge. Located southeast of Bristol in the English countryside, Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument that is surrounded by mystery. The monument has attracted visitors from around the world who want to discover its secrets and learn more about the power associated with the landmark. All kinds of theories exist as to its original purpose, but the monument has stood for thousands of years as a testimony to earlier civilizations.

Experience Cheltenham Racecourse
Located just 40 minutes northeast of the city of Bristol, the Cheltenham Racecourse features exciting horse racing events and activities. If you enjoy a day at the races or are curious to learn more about the sport, then Cheltenham is the place to go during your trip to Bristol. The racecourse features a modern race track with restaurants and lounges to enjoy. There is an information centre as well as an on-site newsstand for the latest news. Providing great horse racing events since 1815, the Cheltenham Racecourse is long standing English tradition in horse racing.

Browse Blaise Castle House Museum
Set in the English countryside near Bristol, the Blaise Castle House Museum is an 18th Century mansion that was built on the Blaise Estate. The estate covers more than 400 acres of park with a museum that is open to the public for tours. Built around 1796, the Blaise House was constructed for Bristol banker John Harford. The house includes a Victorian school room, a picture room, toy room, costume gallery and much more. John Harford was known for his collection of strange and obscure objects which are still on display in the museum.

Climb Cabot Tower
An attraction a little closer to home. Sitting at the West End of Bristol on Brandon Hill, the Cabot Tower was built to honour the memory of John Cabot, a British Explorer who is credited with discovering Canada. Built in 1898, the tower stands over 32 meters high and was constructed from cream-colored Bath stone and red sandstone. The tower is open for tours and provides an amazing view of the city of Bristol and the surrounding area.
