6 Must-Try Brunch Dishes at Café Dupont
The best Bloody Mary in the city
When the weekend rolls around, nothing beats a good brunch. Especially at this time of year – weekends that were all about beach trips, bike rides and al fresco cocktails are now filled with wintery walks, flushed cheeks and a need for comfort food in a cosy Café.
Café Dupont has recently launched a new brunch menu, with some delicious new dishes alongside the classics that you’ll always crave come Saturday morning.
And there’s no better place for a weekend brunch in the city – with a location in the heart of Dupont Circle, you never know who you might bump into. The Café has a chic, Parisian feel, with huge windows overlooking the neighbourhood, comfy seating and intimate booths. The French feel continues on the menu, which showcases the best of locally sourced ingredients with a European twist.
We’ve picked out a few showstoppers from the menu, which will appeal no matter what you’re in the mood for.
If you want something healthy…
There are always a number of healthy options on the menu, which don’t compromise in taste or excitement in the quest for nutritional balance. Try the Superfood Salad, a zesty offering with Beetroot, Quinoa, Edamame Beans, Broccoli, Sunflower Seeds and Pomegranate Dressing.
If you want something light…
Sometimes you don’t want a full, cooked entrée at brunch time. But if you want something a little lighter that still has a classically brunch edge, go for the Salmon Bagel, toasted and served with Locally Smoked Salmon, Shallot and Cucumber Pickle and Cream Cheese.
If you want something sweet…
The Dupont French Toast is always a popular treat for those looking for a sweet, filling dish. You’ll find Brioche French Toast served with Almond Milk and Caramelized Seasonal Fruit. Delicious!
If you want something hearty…
If your tastes are more towards the lunch side of things, then you can’t beat the Dupont Burger. Made with Wagyu Beef, Vintage Cheddar, Local Tomatoes, Lettuce, Pickles and served with French Fries, you won’t be disappointed.
If you want something eggy…
You can never go wrong with Eggs Benedict at Brunch. At Café Dupont, the eggs benny are made with Free Range Poached Eggs, an English Muffin and Hollandaise Sauce. You have a choice of serving with Virginia Country Ham, Smoked Salmon, or Sautéed Spinach.
If you’re feeling thirsty…
The Signature Bloody Mary at Café Dupont is really a thing of beauty, and the perfect accompaniment to a brunch. If you really want a blowout, then order the All American Bloody Mary – it comes with a pang of BBQ seasoning and a strip of crispy bacon!
