Welcome to The Bloomsbury
Located in central London just minutes away from The British Museum, Theatreland, Soho and the designer boutiques and markets of Covent Garden, The Bloomsbury hotel sits at the heart of the historic and vibrant 18th century Bloomsbury - London’s literary heartland and home to several galleries, antiquarian bookshops and an eclectic selection of cafés, traditional pubs and eateries.
Housed in a Grade II listed neo-Georgian building designed in the 1930s by Sir Edwin Lutyens, the greatest British architect of his age, signature architectural features within the hotel include a magnificent stone entrance, stunning double-height lobby and quirky Lutyens-designed ironwork.
Like its iconic architecture, The Bloomsbury hotel evokes a comforting sense of refinement and understated glamour – inspired by the past yet emphatically contemporary. Cultural partnerships as with Poet in the City and the Royal Society of Literature ensure that the hotel maintains strong cultural links that are very much in keeping with its position at the centre of London’s literary heartland.
The former entrance and lobby area of our heritage building are currently undergoing renovation works which will be completed by mid-October and our exciting new bar concept unveiled. As always, we will endeavour to take great care to ensure minimum disruption to our guests during this time. The hotel will be operating as per usual and guests are welcome to dine, drink and relax in the beautiful surrounds of Dalloway Terrace and The Bloomsbury Club Bar & Dining Room.
It’s the little things that make all the difference
The Bloomsbury hotel’s 153 guest rooms and suites offer the very best of 21st century technology seamlessly blended with design flair and luxurious comfort. All have Italian marble bathrooms, supremely comfortable pillow-topped beds, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
