Waterfront hotel location in a laid back, cultural city

The Bristol’s location by the harbour adds that extra dash of cool to your stay in the city. Situated in south west Bristol, at the hotel you’ll be able to capture the vibe in a location which is both the pride of Bristol and a hub of activity. This could be while viewing the ss Great Britain ship, enjoying cuisine in one of the many dining options on the harbour, or admiring other attractions in this sublime city that straddles the River Avon.

The Harbourside

This is where it all happens in Bristol, and there is a real buzz about the area. Once a mere, humble trading port, today the Harbourside receives visitors and locals with a host of restaurants, bars, shops and attractions, including I.K. Brunel’s ss Great Britain ship, the At-Bristol Science Centre , Spike Island and the theatre, to name a few. It’s the place to be seen in Bristol.

Cabot Circus

Fashion, food and drink, technology, sports and leisure, health and beauty… whatever kind of store you’re looking for, you’re likely to find it at Cabot Circus shopping centre. Located north east of the hotel, this shopping centre is the perfect place to treat yourself to that little something expensive, pick up gifts or even get started early on your Christmas shopping. Dorothy Perkins, The Body Shop, Harvey Nichols, Fat Face are some of the plentiful major retailers you can browse round in the centre.

SS Great Britain

Launched in 1843, the ss Great Britain is a historical ship and, at the time it was built, an innovation in maritime technology, since it used a screw propeller instead of conventional paddle wheels to drive the ship. In 1933, the ship came to the end of its working life, and today sits on a glass ‘sea’ at the waterfront for you to explore. The careful restoration of the ship means that when you step on it, you’ll feel as if you’re experiencing the vessel as it was at the very height of its seafaring glory.

Bristol Hippodrome

The curtain of this glamorous theatre rose for the first time in 1912 and the venue has played host to classic West End shows such as Cats and Les Miserables, to We Will Rock You and Dirty Dancing and other modern favourites, to comedy, opera, ballet, shows for children and even a circus. Variety is most certainly the spice of life at this theatre.
