About the hotel
Set in one of London’s most desirable neighbourhoods, around the corner from national treasures - The Natural History, Victoria and Albert and Science Museums, The Kensington is perfectly situated to enjoy them all. The Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park, Kensington Palace and Harrods are too within walking distance.
There’s a sense, on being welcomed through the double-framed doors of The Kensington by a bowler-hatted doorman, of stepping back in time to a more genteel age.
Certainly, the Victorian grandeur of its high ceilings, heritage decor and open fireplaces evoke something of a bygone era. Yet, there is also modernity to the colourful, contemporary furnishings and the attentive, naturally friendly staff. It all combines to lend the personal, familiar vibe of a lovingly-restored mansion and sophisticated members' club, where everyone feels like they belong.
Elegantly appointed guestrooms and suites reflect an exquisite blend of period charm and modern comfort while the hotel’s signature suites take luxury to a new level. For dining, there’s Town House – an elegant all-day dining haven where the ‘London Landmarks Afternoon Tea’ is simply a must, while K Bar, the hotel’s elegant wood-cladded bar, offers an expansive list of the very best wines and a cocktail list that spans both classic and contemporary concoctions.
Meanwhile, the natural charm of the hotel’s Drawing Rooms with their open fireplaces, colourful artwork and pretty objets d’art, provide the ultimate in luxurious yet relaxed living.
Please note that we are currently restoring our façade. As such, there may there may be some scaffolding present at the exterior of the hotel during your stay.
