Wigmore Hall

Wigmore Hall is one of the most beautiful and least known of London's recital halls, promoting more than 400 concerts each year and home to broadcasts by the BBC. Since its founding in 1901 by the Bechstein piano firm, the hall has hosted many remarkable performances by Arthur Schnabel, Percy Grainger, Caruso, Thomas Beecham, Artur Rubinstein, Prokofiev, Poulenc, Hindemith, Britten and Pears, Schwarzkopf and Jacqueline du Pré and many others. Wigmore Hall continues to be the venue of choice for a global roster of leading classical, jazz and world music artists. Designed by English architect Thomas Colcutt in the Renaissance style, the hall is intimate enough for recitals, whilst having the grandeur of a larger venue. For the music lover, or simply for the curious, a visit to Wigmore Hall is a must.
