At the height of his fame, Sandro Botticelli (1445-1510) was one of the most esteemed artists in Italy. 500 years on he is still recognised today as one of the greatest artists of all time. Over the centuries, his work not only permeates art but has since influenced design, fashion and film until this day

From 5th March 2016 to 3rd July 2016, London’s V&A Museum is hosting Botticelli Reimagined - the largest Botticelli exhibition in Britain since 1930. Here you can peruse the works of Botticelli himself as well as exploring the ways artists and designers have interpreted his work over the years in the forms of painting, fashion, film, drawing, photography, tapestry, sculpture and print.

Art lovers and culture vultures alike can expect to see the works from credited artists such as Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Edward Burne-Jones, William Morris, René Magritte, Elsa Schiaparelli, Andy Warhol and Cindy Sherman.

Now you can enjoy the exhibition and more with The Kensington’s Slice of the City: Botticelli Reimagined package which includes free tickets to the Botticelli exhibition, a one night stay in the luxurious surroundings of The Kensington and an official exhibition book.

Guests will also have the opportunity sharpen their own artistic skills with a live drawing class, which takes place at The Study under the tutelage of Daniel Shadbolt, an artist and teacher at Heatherley’s School of Fine Art and The Royal Drawing School. A special Botticelli cocktail and selection of canapés will welcome budding artists, as they create an interpretation of a life model over the 2.5 hour guided lesson. Classes for groups of friends or families can be booked through the hotel.

The V&A Museum is located just 10-minute’s walk from The Kensington, which makes for a leisurely stroll down some of Kensington’s most iconic leafy avenues. With the likes of The Natural History Museum and The Science Museum also on its doorstep, The Kensington is the perfect hotel for your next cultural London city break.
