Swing on by to The Bristol
It’s that time of year again! The famous Bristol International Jazz and Blues Festival is back from 18th - 20th March, with an even bigger programme of over 50 concerts, workshops and jam sessions to choose from. Visit England recently dubbed it as ‘one of the best things to do this spring.' With so many gigs and so little time, we thought we would share our favourite free and ticketed events at The Bristol Jazz Festival.

The Bristol’s Top Picks

  • The Big Swing Night with Swing Circus, free dance lessons and vintage makeovers – Friday 18th March, 10pm, tickets from £15
  • Get your groove on with the legendary Nina Simone’s daughter, Lisa Simone - Saturday 19th March, 4.45pm, tickets from £16
  • Play Guitar Heroes with Larry Carlton on Sunday 20th March, 6pm, tickets from £20

It’s All About the Base
The Bristol makes the perfect base for exploring the International Jazz Festival. Located on Prince Street, it's right in the heart of the creative quarter between Queen Square and the buzzing waterfront filled with restaurants and nightlife. And best of all, it’s only a 5 minute walk to Colston Hall where most of the events are taking place.

Retro Afternoon Tea
During a jam-packed day of non-stop entertainment, you may want to take a break from it all with a rewarding traditional afternoon tea in The Bristol’s lounge. In-keeping with the festivities, tea is served on retro crockery and a glass of champagne can be added to make the experience even more special.

Dine in Style
You’ll be working up an appetite with all that dancing, so continue your jazz-filled weekend back at The Bristol. The River Grille, famous for it’s superb steaks, hosts a resident live pianist on Friday evenings and a Jazz trio take the floor on Saturday nights.

Sleep Sound
Festivals like this only happen once year, so why not experience it in style? The Bristol offers super comfortable beds and the prospect of a wonderfully restorative sleep to keep you on top form throughout the festival. Bright, contemporary rooms and suites with beautiful marble bathrooms provide the perfect contrast for preparing your vintage look.
