Best Brunch in Dublin at Balfes

Best Brunch in Dublin - image 1

We have wholeheartedly embraced the American tradition of a weekend breakfast/lunch, enjoyed lazily with a Bellini or Bloody Mary. And with a location just off the shopping mecca of Grafton Street, Balfes is the perfect spot for a weekend brunch, and is the hottest new kid on the Dublin scene.

With classic brunch dishes served up between 10am and 5pm each weekend, you have plenty of time to cosy up with a plate of goodness. If you’re in the mood for something more traditionally breakfasty, you can tuck into a three-egg omelette, served with chunky home cut chips. You can even opt for the healthier, egg-white only version if you’re feeling virtuous.

If you fancy more of an American style to proceedings, you can go for the classically stateside blueberry and bacon pancakes, dripping in maple syrup. Another staple is the Prime beef burger, served in a brioche bun with smoked paprika mayo, tomato, gruyere cheese & bacon.

Feeling more like a traditional lunch? The half-roast chicken is perfect weekend fare, served up with roast carrot & parsnip, hand cut chips and followed by rice pudding, all for just €15. Or, if you’re not up to a full meal, work your way through six Carlingford oysters.

Of course, brunch just isn’t the same without a cocktail or two. You can kick things off with a Bellini or a Cosmo, but the Balfes signature cocktails are definitely ones to try. The Loulerie Sparkler is a blend of prosecco, raspberries and crème de mur, and the devilish Count Arnheim is made with bourbon, drambuie, lemon juice, egg white and sugar syrup.

Finish things off with a Baileys Cinnamon Coffee, taken on the outdoor terrace while tucked under a luxurious woollen blankets. Weekends don’t get any better than this.
