Celebrate Pancake Day in style at Balfes

Go healthy or stick to the classics

Pancakes in Balfes Dublin

If Valentine’s Day isn’t your thing, then you might be interested in celebrating a very different occasion that, this year, falls just one day before. Pancake Day is on February 13th, and what better way to kick it off in style than a plate of delicious, Instagram-ready pancakes at Balfes, Dublin’s Parisian style brasserie?

There’s no reason an indulgent breakfast can’t be nutritious, either. The BodyByrne pancakes on the Balfes menu have been created with Siobhan and Paul Byrne of BodyByrne Fitness, and are made with energy rich oats. They come with a choice of three toppings - berries & agave nectar, scrambled eggs & avocado or almond butter & banana, all of which are nutritionally dense and powerful, and will leave you filled with energy for the whole day.

To really boost your energy levels, pair the pancakes with a BulletByrne Coffee, which is prepared with a shot of coconut oil to regulate caffeine and keep you fuller for longer. A freshly prepared apple, celery, spinach, avocado & lime juice will give you a much needed hit of vitamins, vital for keeping well in the winter months.

If you want to go down the traditional route, then the blueberry pancakes on the menu are the perfect option, fluffy and filled with plump, juicy berries (and drizzled with proper maple syrup, of course). If you’re so inclined, you can order them to come with dry cured bacon, for a real American style breakfast.

Breakfast is served from 8am to 11.30am Monday to Friday, and both pancakes feature on the Brunch menu, which is served from 10am at the weekend. For more information including menus and booking information, see the website
