The K Bar at The Kensington will be treating guests to the tastes of old-world Europe as the bar welcomes a new cocktail menu, titled ‘Terroir’.

The name Terroir stems from the complete set of environmental factors which create an unparalleled sense of character and place in wine, from unique and different regions. Inspired by this, Bar Manager at The K Bar, Salvatore Maggio began to develop a new and innovative menu.

Taking inspiration from the best loved wine regions, each of the 15 cocktails expertly mixed by head Mixologist Dominique and her team will emulate the characteristics of different wines, telling the story from look to taste. The cocktails will showcase an array of different flavours and notes which have been uniquely blended and perfectly match the type of local produce found in that native region.

As you flick through the newly designed menu, prepare to be immersed by the story of each cocktails, with the menu including a page which outlines the fundamental factors that impact the terroir; which has consequently influenced the drink.

The menu will include different notes, from dry, spicy, bitter and sweet, giving guests an established option of innovative flavours to explore. The cocktail ‘45th Parallel’ made with Remy Martini VSOP, Evangelista Ratafia, Syrah Jus, Blackberry, Citrus is linked to the region of Bordeaux and denotes tannic, oak-aged and savoury flavours.

The ‘Float On’ pays homage to the region of Rioja: Hot and dry with altitude moderating heat and three distinct sub-regions. Made with Bulleit Bourbon, Carpano Antica Formula, Grapefruit, Cranberry, Rioja, Blackberry and Almond, the drink combines a mix of bright, fresh, tannic, fruity and oaky notes.

Alongside the new cocktails, The K Bar will also be offering a unique collection of spirits and bar bites to the menu for guests to enjoy, which each express a deep sense of their very own terroir and centre round tastes from the most renowned wine regions in Europe.

Set in the heart of West London, K bar is easily accessible for guests through the entrance to The Kensington. It features the sophisticated atmosphere of a gentleman’s club with deep grained oak panelling, furnishing finished in green and royal blue hues all lit by sultry lighting.
