The landmark Dupont Circle Hotel overlooks the eponymous leafy park at the heart of this vibrant, central DC neighborhood.

The Dupont Circle Hotel has a large vibrant ground floor. The glamorous lobby with its polished stone floors, Italian marble and feature fireplace opens into the busy Bar Dupont, its floor to ceiling windows looking directly onto the circle. Bar Dupont has become a DC institution, open for lunch and into the evening, when it really rocks with a cosmopolitan after work crowd. 


The most sought after seats are outside however, on the laid back terrace where you can relax over a cocktail or early dinner and watch the world go by. The fresh modern menu at Café Dupont, with a European slant, is available for breakfast and dinner with the Dupont Sunday Brunch a particular favourite with the regulars.


The spacious guest rooms at The Dupont Circle Hotel embody the essence of contemporary urban chic; sleek marble bathrooms, soothing color schemes and comfortable designer furnishings make for a great stay. You can look out over the surrounding streets and rooftops, onto our quiet central courtyard or if you choose one of our premium rooms, onto Dupont Circle itself. Level Nine, our penthouse floor, offers spectacular views across the city from its private terrace and balconies. Business events and social occasions can be curated by our in-house team in a variety of meeting and party spaces, from our glamorous Ballroom to The Heights on Level Nine, with a selection of menus specially prepared by Cafe Dupont.

In an area with some of the very best restaurants and bars DC has to offer, Café & Bar Dupont more than hold their own. The fashionable, minimalist interior showcases, along with the legendary weekend brunch, a menu of unique French-influenced dishes with a modern twist. Cooked with rigorously sourced, organic produce from our neighbouring farmers’ market, our dishes take French influences in the city’s history and channel them into true contemporary classics. The Dupont Bar buzzes after dark as guests and locals rub shoulders with Washington’s hip crowd, all in pursuit of a perfectly mixed cocktail or a fine vintage.

Chef David Fritsche


Growing up in his grandmother’s hotel in the Swiss Alps, Executive Chef, David Fritsche, was around fine food from his earliest years. Simpler fare was the order of the day at home, with his mother’s cooking built around her daily harvest from their extensive fruit and vegetable garden. At just 15, David followed his star to an apprenticeship at Grand Hotel Quellenhof in Bad Ragaz.  Starting out in classical French cuisine, he then spent several years in Dubai, giving him a passion for the nuances of Arabic cuisine. Cork came next, where David’s way with the best of Irish produce won plaudits, awards and an offer to take the helm at Essex House in New York City. Three years later we lured him down to DC, to The Dupont Circle Hotel, where his contemporary take on French classics are made with expertly sourced, fresh, seasonal ingredients, every day. David Fritsche’s passion for food is evident in every bite. His motto? Live life to cook.

The chef at Café Dupont has worked hard to develop lasting relationships with local suppliers and artisan producers, many of whom can be found in our neighbourhood farmers’ market, to source the very finest seasonal meat, fish, vegetables and cheeses for every dish.
