Autumnal walk through Hampstead Heath

There’s something magical about the changing seasons, and the arrival of autumn will hopefully see bright blue skies, crisp fresh air and the crunch of leaves beneath your feet becoming a daily occurrence. Head north of The Marylebone for an escape from the city only 20 minutes away. With its wild meadows and dense woodland areas, it’s the perfect quiet spot to admire the changing colours of the trees as the new season arrives. The bathing ponds - mens, womens and mixed – are open throughout the autumn months too, although with temperatures averaging at 15°C, it’s not an activity for the fainthearted!

Just a stone’s throw from The Kensington sit several of the city’s finest museums, offering the perfect educational retreat from any sudden Autumnal turns in the weather. The iconic Victoria and Albert Museum is currently exhibiting FOOD: Bigger than the Plate, inviting visitors to participate, taste and debate the politics and pleasure of food and asking how the choices we made can lead to a more sustainable, and more delicious, future. Next door, the Natural History Museum is the perfect family-friendly destination to escape the chillier climate, with areas dedicated to everything from dinosaurs to human evolution just waiting to be explored.
