‘Tea Total’ Cocktails at The Bloomsbury

Cocktails inn London

After the fun and over-indulgence of the Christmas period, January is often seen as an opportunity for a fresh start and a much-needed detox. The Bloomsbury is starting 2016 with a health kick of its own, by introducing a non-alcoholic Tea Total Cocktail list.

The new menu is part of a collaboration with Henrietta Lovell, Founder of Rare Tea Company. The aim of the partnership was to create eight new cocktails using Rare Tea Company’s finest tealeaves. Each cocktail is skilfully blended with the freshest ingredients and is inspired by some of the most classic cocktails.

So what sort of virtuous delights can you expect from The Bloomsbury’s new menu? Choose from the Mintea Collins, a blend of peppermint tea, heather honey, lemon and mint or On Your Todd, a refreshing mix of lemongrass tea, ginger, apple, pear and FeverTree soda water. Other specials include The Jasmine Silver Tip Iced TeaHold The HendricksThe Historic Isotonic and The January 14th. All 8 cocktails are mixed by Bar Manager Mathieu Gaudin and are priced at £6 each. Bar Manager Mathieu Gaudin comments; “Many of our guests ask for non-alcoholic alternatives to our cocktail list, particularly in January.  I’m delighted to work with Rare Tea Company and create a new non-alcoholic cocktail list which truly rivals its alcoholic counterpart. Teetotal cocktails have come a long way since the typical sugary mocktails with umbrellas. As a mixologist it’s been challenging but exciting experimenting with classic flavours, new infusions and approaches to achieve the same great taste as traditional alcoholic cocktails.”
