The Brand New WILDE: Dublin's Hidden Terrace

Dine al fresco, in all weathers.

Experience the pleasure of dining al fresco while inside, in the newly renovated Wilde restaurant in the middle of Dublin city.

Nothing beats the feeling of eating outside when the weather is fine. But while a sunny terrace is all well and good, sometimes the Irish elements don’t exactly play ball. You can order a drink in the blazing sunshine, but be dodging the rain when it arrives. Which is why the new layout of Wilde, the restaurant in The Westbury, is such a winner.

Get a great cocktail in a chic restaurant - Wilde is luxurious and in the middle of the city of Dublin, just steps from Grafton Street.

The transformation of the restaurant has created a stunning, light-filled space, with giant windows overlooking the street below. Tables line the windows, with plenty of lush green plants climbing the walls, so you can sit in the sunshine while being protected from whatever the weather is doing outside.

On a warm day, the huge windows can be opened, creating the real feeling of an outdoor space. But if the weather turns, the light still floods in, leaving you snug and warm inside. There are even Donegal woven blankets on each chair, which you can drape over your knees for added cosiness.

The interior of the space is complimentary to the open theme, with plush, forest green chairs and Art Deco finishes.

If you’re staying at The Westbury, your breakfast is served in Wilde, so you can see in the start of the day from the best seat in town. A freshly-made juice in hand, you can watch the world come and go below, while tucking into eggs benedict or the classic Full Irish.

Or how about an aperitif, taken before dinner and shaken by one of the expert mixologists on hand? The cocktail bar is hidden in the corner of the restaurant, with chic padded chairs and a wealth of amazing drinks on offer. Try the Gunpowder gin and tonic, with gin from Leitrim, or one of the custom drinks created by head bartender Micheal O'Shea. The Sommelier is always on hand for perfect wine pairing ideas, too.

Then, of course, there’s dinner itself. We wrote about the new menu at Wilde recently, where you can find delectable dishes of Irish provenance, from seafood to steak, served up with side dishes you’ll be dreaming of for months afterwards. You'll find some amazing seafood options, like  Whole Dover sole meunière, Lobster served with tomato jam and grilled fruits from Wrights of Marino in Dublin and a delectable seafood risotto bouillabaisse. The shellfish on offer is perfectly fresh and delicious, and steak lovers will adore the exceptional beef featuring on the menu.

Our food philosophy at WILDE is about simplicity and respect for ingredients.  We seek out the best artisan and local suppliers and create dishes that allow the quality of the ingredients to come together in exceptional dishes.  Coupled with our approach to food, we want to offer a dining experience in a unique space that is beautiful and atmospheric.  We’re in the heart of Dublin 2 and believe WILDE is the perfect viewpoint from which to take in everything the city has to offer.” said Sandeep Singh, WILDE Executive Chef.

Short on time? Visitors to Dublin and locals looking for a great lunch spot will be thrilled to discover the Express Menu, with three-courses available for €25 until 5pm Monday to Thursday.

WILDE is open for dining and drinks seven days a week.
