Opening in 1871, world famous concert hall, The Royal Albert Hall continues to host the world’s leading figures in music and dance. Over 1.7 million people come to revel in the performances held here each year, and this winter, so can you. With a selection of different musical performances, ballet and children’s shows, The Royal Albert Hall has something for everyone to celebrate the winter season.

Located a short stroll north of The Kensington, The Royal Albert Hall hosts a selection of performances, which are perfect for the winter season. This iconic venue sits in a Grade 1 listed building, creating a spectacular atmosphere for every evening of entertainment. Famous names to have graced the stage include Sir Alfred Hitchcock, The Spice Girls, Sir Bruce Forsyth CBE, Dame Julie Andrews and even Albert Einstein to name a few. Opened by Queen Victoria and named after her late husband, the venue played host tomany musical performances and today, over 390 shows are performed in the main auditorium each year. With a capacity of up to 5,272 seats, there is plenty of space for you to catch one of their magical performances this winter.

Classic Concerts

The Royal Albert Hall’s doors are open for a festive season of music and ballet. There’s still time to buy tickets to a traditional sing along at ‘Carols at the Royal Albert.’ You’ll be joining the wonderful Royal Choral Society, the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Her Majesty’s Coldstream Guards in a show containing all of the festive favourites. If ballet is more your kind of thing, make sure you book tickets to see ‘The Nutcracker’, brought to you by Birmingham Royal Ballet and set alongside the classic Tchaikovsky score.

Also on this season, an incredible performance from Cirque Du Soleil, bringing you their all-new creation, ‘Totem.’ Taking you on the journey of mankind, watch as they mesmerisingly twist, turn, flip and dance their way around the stage. If you’re a jazz-lover, attend the Hall’s ‘Late Night Jazz’ sessions, with new musicians each time, and listen to the smooth sounds of Chelsea Carmichael, Mc Maurice and Stefano Falcone. Furthermore, you can also catch some free music performances with ‘Free Friday Music’, featuring the likes of Kadialy Kouyate and Anselmo Netto. Here, you can enjoy delicious food and drink in the venue’s Verdi – Italian Kitchen alongside relaxing, atmospheric tunes.

Begin the night with dinner at Town House, The Kensington’s dining haven, with a delicious pre-theatre offering. Executive Chef Steve Gibbs has curated a menu with a strong focus on seasonal and fresh produce. Can we tempt you with Trealy Farm charcuterie or roast corn-fed chicken? The pre-theatre menu offers two courses for £20 or three courses for £25 and is available every day of the week from 5pm to 7pm.
