November in England means one thing – Bonfire Night. Each year, the skies are ablaze with fireworks to remember Guy Fawkes, and his bid to blow up the Houses of Parliament. Nowadays, the shows tend to take place on the weekend closest to the 5^th, rather than the night itself… meaning the old poem above isn’t always correct!

Alexandra Palace

One of the biggest shows in London takes place in the infamous ‘Ally Pally’ in North London. As well as the fireworks, there’s street food and a craft beer village, ice-skating and a huge bonfire.

Hackney Firework Pyromusical

Head west for an extravaganza in Hackney’s Clissold Park. The fireworks are set to music, so prepare for a spectacular performance. This year’s theme is Superheroes, chosen by the local community.

Battersea Park Fireworks

Head south of the river for a royal themed evening at Battersea Park. As well as the fireworks themselves, there’s street food and mulled wine to keep you nice and toasty. Tickets are cheaper in advance if bought online.

Richmond Family Fireworks

Leafy Richmond is home to a family friendly firework display, which kicks off at an earlier time of 7.30pm. The theme for this one is A Night at the Musicals, so get ready for some show stopping tunes from the West End.
