Ah Thanksgiving, that great American tradition that England - like Valentine’s Day, Halloween and Black Friday - has jumped on the celebratory bandwagon of and embraced as if it were our own. Well who are we to turn our noses up at a good old fashioned American feast? So whether you’re homesick for the great US of A or just have a hankering for turkey, make a date with Town House’s special Thanksgiving menu.

The Kensington’s fine-dining restaurant in South Kensington is offering a set dinner for £45 per person available on 24th November. It comes with all the usual suspects, from crab and sweetcorn chowder to turkey with maple carrots or beef ribs with smoked sweet potato. For dessert, the obligatory pumpkin pie is given a British twist as it’s combined with apple and turned into a crumble but if that’s too rogue for you opt for the warm S’Mores with vanilla ice cream and pecan brittle.

Town House’s menu has been created by Executive Chef Steve Gibbs, formerly of Hix and Caprice Holdings – so you know you’re in good hands. Pair the dishes with something from the expert wine list. A glass of Champagne to start with perhaps, before moving on to a 2011 Ridge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, a patriotic choice that will perfect complement the rich meat courses.

After dinner, keep the festivities going and pull up a stool at The K Bar for one of award-winning bar manager Ben Manchester’s fabulous cocktails.
