How to enjoy the sun in Cork

Private outdoor dining in the city

Outdoor dining in Cork city for private events

As Ireland bathes in glorious sunshine, people are desperately seeking an al fresco spot from which to soak it all up. And in Cork City, the perfect place can be found at The River Lee.

As well as the excellent terrace bar, where you can enjoy a glass of wine and a bite to eat next to the water, there’s a secret spot that’s a beautiful suntrap in the city. The Look Out is an elegant rooftop space overlooking the trees of the Bishop’s Palace, with a great view of the city. Set above the weir, this glamourous space has a cocktail nook, stylish chevron parquet flooring and a fully covered terrace, just in case the weather takes a turn.

Outdoor dining with BBQ for private functions in Cork city

It’s an ideal spot for any private event, be it a formal gathering or a casual occasion. There’s plenty of greenery, as well as heaters for chillier nights, so you can stay outdoors even when the temperature drops.

And no eating style suits the summer more than a BBQ. The BBQ options offer a sleek variation of classic dishes, all cooked up on the grill and served with a mixed green leaf salad. Think Irish Angus beef burgers, honey and lemon BBQ chicken drumsticks and O’Flynn’s artisan sausages.

No BBQ is complete without a variety of salads, and there are some great options to choose from, including…

  • Super Food Salad with Quinoa, Broccoli, Beetroot, Pomegranate & Feta
  • Pommery Mustard Coleslaw
  • Roasted Butternut Squash Salad, Toasted Pumpkin Seeds, Citrus Dressing
  • Mozzarella & Beef Tomato Caprese
  • Mediterranean Pasta Salad
  • Baby Potato Salad
  • Moroccan Style Cous Cous
  • Classic Caesar Salad
Mixed Bean Salad
Pickled Cucumber & Dill Greek Salad with Feta

If you are in the mood to impress, there are some additions that will make any BBQ super special. Like…

  • Twomey’s Black Angus Sirloin Steak
  • Ginger Chilli Marinated Tiger Prawn Skewers
  • Spiced Lamb Shish Kebab
  • Blackened Cajun Salmon
  • Pork Ribs in a Jack Daniels Glaze
  • Spicy Vegan Chilli Burgers
  • 1/2 Lobster
  • Turkey Burger

You’ll need something sweet to finish off the evening, and the BBQ menu has you covered, with desserts including a zesty lemon posset,
Jameson chocolate parfait, raspberry cheesecake and a Bourbon vanilla and rhubarb panna cotta.

The BBQ menu at The Look Out is available for 40 guests or more. For more information, get in touch with Katharina Dennehy on 021 493 7716
