Independent Shops Near The Marylebone
Our favourite independent shops on The Marylebone's doorstep
With some of the best independent shops and boutiques in the capital, Marylebone Village is the perfect place to avoid the crowds whilst enjoying an afternoon pottering from independent book shops to independent jewellers
Daunt Books by WolfB1958
A Marylebone institution, Daunt Books has been trading in both fiction and non-fiction travel books for over 25 years, and more recently has begun to expand their offering to include everything from art and photography to food and books for children. The gorgeous building is not to be missed, originally designed in 1910 as an antiquarian booksellers, the galleried main room still features its original stained glass arch window.
Marylebone High Street by John Blower
This family run business is one of Marylebone’s most exclusive independent stores. Established in 1982, the shop prides itself on dealing exclusively in precious metals, the jeweller is one of London’s best exponents for Pearl Jewellery.
Whisky by Jpitha
Just five minutes from The Marylebone, step into Cadenhead’s world of whisky to marvel at bottles worth over £50,000 in this veritable tardis of all things drinkable. However, the shop’s crowning glory is the beautiful downstairs tasting room, which holds regular tasting events which can be booked for just £30 per person.
Nestled on Thayer StreetDeploy is an independent boutique and atelier which allows shoppers to create their own designs or customise any of its pieces. The shop’s commitment to ethical production and sustainability earned it a place on the 2009 BBC documentary ‘It’s Not Easy Being Green’. The perfect place to feast your eyes on simple, sophisticated, feminine, form-flattering designs.
