Opening 20th September 2025, the exhibit explores the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of the Last Queen of France – from her role as a fashion icon and political figure to her lasting influence on design, beauty and culture. Through an immersive display of fashion, art, and personal treasures, visitors will be transported to the gilded halls and manicured gardens of 18th-century Versailles.

Let Us Eat Cake

The experience continues back in the hotel’s Drawing Room with an afternoon tea worthy of the Queen’s notorious sweet tooth and flair for extravagance. Launching alongside the exhibition, Let Us Eat Cake features a tempting selection of delicate sandwiches, plain and fruit scones, as well as several exquisite pâtisserie creations such as Le Gâteau du Jardin, strawberry genoise sponge with vanilla Chantilly and La Robe de la Reine, a blackberry and lemon curd tartlet. In the spirit of indulgence, guests may add a glass of Champagne or a Queen’s Coupe – a handcrafted cocktail blend of vodka, Champagne, and Earl Grey cordial.

The Kensington’s neoclassical design effortlessly evokes the exquisite natural motifs of Le Petit Trianon, Marie Antoinette’s personal sanctuary within Versailles.
